A to Z Challenge - C is for CAIN

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess.
I am taking part in the 2014 A-Z Challenge - 26 posts on 26 days of April, with Sundays off. Today's letter is: C for Cain [Click here to see my other AtoZ posts]

Cain's name means "Something Produced". Even though Adam and Eve had already sinned against Jehovah God, He was still merciful, allowing them to have children. (Genesis 3:16) Cain was the first child born on earth to his parents. He was also older brother to Abel.

Cain was a farmer/cultivator of the ground, but he lacked faith in God and was already displaying a bad heart attitude compared to his younger brother, Abel who was a shepherd and full of spiritual insight. Jehovah God did not look favourably upon Cain's attitude and even cautioned him about it. (Genesis 4:5-7) Cain did not listen or correct his attitude [much like mankind today]. He allowed jealousy and hatred to overtake him to such an extent that one day in the field, he assaulted his younger brother Abel, killing him. (Genesis 4:8) Thus, Cain became the first murderer! This account serves as a reminder to us - the way we treat our fellow Christians has a bearing on our relationship with Jehovah God and our future life prospects. We cannot expect to enjoy God's approval while hating our fellow believers. (1 John 3:11-15; 4:20)

    1. Hello Tara.
You know, the Bible is such a fascinating book to read. Everytime I look at a scripture, I read things I didn't read before. I appreciate the visit and hope you will enjoy the challenge.
