A to Z Challenge - E is for EARTH

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess.
I am taking part in the 2014 A-Z Challenge - 26 posts on 26 days of April, with Sundays off. Today's letter is: E for Earth [Click here to see my other AtoZ posts]

Earth is the fifth-largest planet of the solar system and third in order of position from the sun. It rotates on its axis bringing about day and night. (Genesis 1:4, 5)

In the Scriptures, the word earth has several meanings including but not limited to:- Earth, as opposed to heaven or sky; Land, country or territory; Ground, surface of the ground; People of all the globe.

Like all other created things, the Earth was brought into existence because of Jehovah God's will and it was created to remain forever. (Psalms 104:5; 119:90; Ecclesiastes 1:4; Revelation 4:11) Jehovah God said He did not make the earth for nothing but that He had given it to man as a home. (Genesis 1:28; Isaiah 45:18) Earth had no flaws when it was created. (Genesis 1:31) God's purpose was and still is for man to live forever on earth in perfection...not earth as we know it today. (Psalms 37:11; 115:16) Unfortunately, man has not looked after his home. Think about the effects of global warming, landfills, the damage done to the earth and the sea as a result of oil spills, chemical waste, slums resulting from over-population, man's own greed, etc. All is not lost, however. Jehovah God promises to rid the earth of all wicked and unrighteous people and earth will be restored back to a paradise the way it was originally intended (Revelation 11:18).

    1. Hello Saina.
      I love to read the Bible since it is from God about God. It's such a fascinating and exciting book. I find applying Bible counsel in my life at all times leads to a much happier existence. Most of all, it draws me closer to God, the best relationship I could ever have. I appreciate the visit & hope you too will enjoy the challenge.

    1. Hello Kripali.
      Earth was given to us by Jehovah God. It has and will always be our home. Shame we don't take care of it the way we're supposed to. Thanks for commenting. All the best with the challenge!

    1. Hello again Enchantress.
      Many people believe in mythology and superstition. However, the Bible clearly warns us against the philosophies of men. (Colossians 2:8) I trust the Bible completely, because not only is it a book from God about God, but it's also based on truth and facts...things that men are very good at twisting. Thanks for taking the time to visit.

    @JLenniDorner

    Thanks for visiting me.

    Nice blog post.

    There are all these dystopian novels out now. I wonder if one could be written about such a utopian time coming after the dystopian time? It sounds a bit like what is described, doesn't it? The world being cleansed, and then later things being restored.

    It's just a thought. I wonder if that would be a new category? Post-dystopian-utopian novels.

    1. Hello J. Lenni Dorner.
      I can understand why this all sounds pretty far-fetched to you and many people won't believe it either. Noah faced similar disbelief when he preached to the peoples about the upcoming flood. Many did not believe him then and when the flood did come, they were all destroyed except Noah and 7 others. All Bible prophecy has come true to date. I have no doubt whatsoever that the prophecy about the earth will likewise be fulfilled. God's Word is truth and God does not lie. (John 17:17; Titus 1:2) Thanks for stopping by.
