A to Z Challenge - J is for JESUS CHRIST

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess.
I am taking part in the 2014 A-Z Challenge - 26 posts on 26 days of April, with Sundays off. Today's letter is: J for Jesus Christ [Click here to see my other AtoZ posts]

The name Jesus in Hebrew is "Jeshua" or in its fuller form "Jehoshua" meaning "Jehovah is salvation." Christ is from the Greek "Khristos", the equivalent of the Hebrew "Mashiach" (Messiah) and means "Anointed One." Jesus served as God's spokesman, so is also referred to as "The Word."

Who is Jesus Christ? He is the son of God. Jesus did not begin life here on earth. He had a prehuman existence in the spirit realm, heaven. (John 3:13; 6:38, 62). He was God's first creation, the only-begotten son of his Father, in that Jehovah God alone directly created him before anything else was ever brought into existence. (Proverbs 8:22, 23, 30; John 1:14; Colossians 1:15, 16) Jesus is not God, as some might have you believe based on John 1:1 [Trinity Doctrine] neither did he consider himself equal to God (consider Psalms 83:18; Isaiah 45:18; John 6:38; 7:16; 14:28) In fact, the word "Trinity" or its doctrine does not even appear in the New Testament. It is a lie man-made teaching that has developed over many centuries and which no one can fully explain - simply because it is not a Bible teaching!

Jesus Birth and Life on Earth
The Bible tells us God transferred the life of His son from heaven to the womb of a virgin named Mary. No other human was involved, so Jesus was not conceived as we know conception to be, he did not have a human father. (Luke 1:30-35) Jesus came of his own free will to earth to teach the truth about God, his Father, to show how to do God's will even when we are in difficulty and to offer his perfect life as a ransom. (Matthew 20:28)
What is a ransom? Simply put, it is the price paid to release a person from the threat of death. Remember, we were not created to die. Adam and Eve were created with perfect lives and perfect health. They were to populate the earth. All they had to do was be obedient to God, but they decided to eat from the forbidden tree and with what result? Death. (Genesis 2:16, 17) We, therefore, needed a ransom to release us from this punishment and that is what Jesus provided. (Romans 5:12; 6:23) Remember too that Jesus did not have to die. He was perfect and never committed any sins. He willingly gave up his life for mankind's sins...for us. What a loving act on the part of him and his Father, Jehovah God, to make a provision for us (a way out from the curse of sin and death so to speak). (John 3:16; Romans 5:18, 19) As such, never would you or I want to lose sight of how important Jesus death is to us.
When he began his full-time preaching work [ministry] in 29 C.E., Jesus would have been about 30 years old. He did this for 3-1/2 years until his death in 33 C.E. He dedicated his short life to obeying his Father and doing what was required of him, namely preaching from door-to-door and from city-to-city...just like modern-day Jehovah's Witnesses. (Luke 8:1; Acts 5:42)) He cured the sick, raised the dead [think of Lazarus] and rescued people in peril. He thus gave an early preview of what he will be able to do for obedient mankind on a much grander scale in the coming future. (Matthew 15:30, 30; John 5:28) After his death, God resurrected Jesus back to life in heaven as a spirit person until it was time for him [Jesus] to rule as King. (1 Peter 3:18; Hebrews 10:12, 13) Just as the Bible prophesied, Jesus is now ruling as King in heaven and his followers on earth, only Jehovah's Witnesses, are declaring the good news about this Kingdom worldwide. (Daniel 7:13, 14; Matthew 24:14)
Soon, Jesus will use his power as King to end all human suffering on earth and restore it to its paradisaical condition with only righteous people on it. (Psalms 37:9-11; Revelation 21:3, 4) All of God's previous prophecies have already been fulfilled. There is no reason whatsoever to doubt the fulfillment of this one. The question then is this - will you be a subject of God's Kingdom?

    1. Hello Chrys.
I don't know if you realise, but Easter is a holiday named after the pagan Goddess of the Dawn and of Spring, Eostre. The Church adopted pagan customs and gave a Christian meaning to them. Although this day in Christian churches is used to commemorate Jesus' resurrection, Easter is not in the Bible. Jesus himself issued the command that his DEATH be remembered when he instituted the Lord's Evening Meal. (Luke 22:19) Nowhere in the Bible does it say to commemorate his resurrection. (1 Corinthians 11:23-26) God's Word makes it very clear there can be no harmony between Jesus Christ and pagan worship. (2 Corinthians 6:14-18)
Thanks all the same for stopping by.
