Off On My Tangent - STINKY STENCH!

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess and the 33rd post in my series entitled "Off On My Tangent!"

There's a stench in the air! I'm not talking crop spraying stench...but the stench of bigotry, prejudice, racism, hypocrisy and pride. Nowadays, it seems if you have enough money you can get away with saying and doing whatever the heck you please, regardless of whom you offend or insult.

Society has become ever-consumed with the promotion of "self" and "me-first". Proud ones lack humility, relying on self rather than Jehovah God. They feel they have superior wisdom and natural ability above the average. But who really is the source of true wisdom and where does natural ability come from? What does a man have that he did not receive? Is not Jehovah [God's personal Name (Psalms 83:18*)] the Giver of all good things? Is it not God, the Creator of the Universe, who provided the earth we live on, the food we eat and the air we breathe? We humans depend on these things for our existence. Likewise, our very existence depends on God, so we really shouldn't be bragging and boasting about anything.

Proud ones are cocksure, convinced in their own minds they are right and unwilling to be advised or to consider opposing views. They are only interested in promoting their own agenda, constantly justifying themselves rather than examining themselves. Their pride brings contention, quarrelsomeness, disgrace and ultimately destruction (Proverbs 16:18 KJV**). Their promises are empty and guaranteed to fail. Why? Because, their good-for-nothing plans go to the grave with them when they die off! (Psalms 146:3, 4*) And besides, Jehovah God has His own Kingdom already in place to end all wars (Psalms 46:9*) and relieve the human race of all the atrocities [sickness, suffering & death] facing us today (Revelation 21:3-5 KJV**). God's Kingdom is the only one guaranteed to succeed! (Isaiah 55:11*)

Should we be surprised at the brashness of these men [and women] who make stinky, twisted  and veiled promises? Not really! The Bible accurately foretold at 2 Timothy 3:1-4* that in the last days of this wicked system of things, men would love themselves, love money, be boastful and haughty, have no natural affection, be without self-control, betrayers, headstrong and puffed up with pride.

How do you think God feels about such ones? Well, they will certainly not be in His Kingdom. Proverbs 8:13* says: "I hate self-exaltation and pride and the evil way and perverse speech." Also Proverbs 16:5 (ASV***): "Everyone that is proud in heart is an abomination to Jehovah." Proud ones reflect their own glory rather than giving it to the One who rightly deserves it - Jehovah God (1 Corinthians 10:31*). The lesson then is this: If you are to form and maintain a close friendship with God, you must put away all the bad attitudes God hates (Proverbs 6:16-19*; Galatians 5:19-21*) and learn to cultivate those qualities the Bible refers to as the "fruitage of the spirit" - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, self-control. (Galatians 5:22, 23*) And you need to stop inhaling and digesting the "stinky stench" of mortal men [and by the same token - women]!!!
