A to Z Challenge - B is for BIBLE

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess.
I am taking part in the 2014 A-Z Challenge - 26 posts on 26 days of April, with Sundays off. Today's letter is: B for Bible [Click here to see my other AtoZ posts]

The Bible is undoubtedly the greatest book of all times. It is a literary masterpiece and the most important book to all mankind. It is made up of 66 smaller books and divided into two sections: the Hebrew-Aramaic Scriptures (Old Testament) and the Greek Scriptures (New Testament).

Starting in 1513 B.C.E. it took some 1,610 years to produce. But who do you think is its author? Is it written by man, by God or some other entity? The author of the Bible is actually Jehovah God. Let's illustrate: A businessman uses a secretary to type and sign his letters on his behalf, but he dictates the words. The letters do not belong to the secretary, but to the businessman. In the same way, Jehovah God used about 40 different men to record events in the Bible. By way of His holy spirit or active force, God directed what He wanted recorded using men of all sorts [unlettered, shepherd, farmer, fisherman, tax collector, even king to name but a few]. The Bible is, therefore, not just a book about God, but also a book from God. It reveals the past, explains the present and accurately foretells the future...something man is still trying to figure out! Its teachings, doctrines, righteous principles and high moral standards are beneficial for all mankind, for it was written for our instruction. (2 Timothy 3:16, 17; Psalms 1:1, 2; Isaiah 48:17, 18) If you have not already done so, I encourage you to start reading the Bible today. It's a fascinating book filled with prophecy and most importantly God's truth - and unlike humans who lie, cheat and steal, God cannot lie. Neither does He do anything bad like lying, cheating or stealing! (Titus 1:2)

  1. I love this, thank you for writing that it was most interesting and I don't think people necessarily think on 'who wrote the Bible' My husband and children go to church most weeks and this is something I might ask him. PS never gone to a blog site that plays music,, confused me at first lol, but it doesnt take much to do that - ps hello from another A-z blogger x

    1. Hello Eclectic OddsnSods.
Many people claim to read the Bible and yet they don't realize that the Bible is actually from God about God. Yes, he used spiritual men and women to write, but he told them what to write in dreams and visions. I appreciate the comments. Hope I didn't startle you too much with the music. Many thanks for visiting.

  2. New follower here! Hopped over from the A to Z and liked what I saw. Blessings!

    1. Hello P Lusamba.
I'm quite an avid reader too. Everyone these days has all these electronic gadgets and devices, but, I'm from the "old school"...nothing beats the smell and feel of a good book. Thanks for stopping by.
