A to Z Challenge - K is for KINGDOM

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess.
I am taking part in the 2014 A-Z Challenge - 26 posts on 26 days of April, with Sundays off. Today's letter is: K for Kingdom [Click here to see my other AtoZ posts]

Please READ Matthew 6:9-13. These Scriptures should be familiar to you as they make up what is commonly known as the Lord's Prayer. Verse 10 states: "Let your Kingdom come." What is this Kingdom?

A kingdom is a royal government, the territory and peoples under the rule of a king or queen. The Kingdom referred to in verse 10 is God's Kingdom and it's king is Jesus Christ. So God's Kingdom is a government in heaven and it's ruler, Jesus Christ will rule over the entire earth for 1,000 years. (Revelation 20:6) Jesus has the ability to do far more than any ruler ever, but just like in Biblical times, people today don't want God to be their ruler. Many claim to love Him, even believing in Him and His Son, Jesus, but when it comes to rulership, they don't want to be told what to do. They want their own governments right here on earth. (Matthew 6:24-33)

What will God's Kingdom do? Matthew 6:10 gives us a clue. It reads: "Let your Kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also on earth." God's will was done in heaven when Jesus was enthroned as King and Satan and his rebellious demons were hurled out of heaven to the vicinity of the earth. (Revelation 12: 10, 12) God's purpose for the earth has always been for it to be a paradise filled with an undying, righteous human race who serve Him obediently. (Psalms 37:29) The events in the Garden of Eden prevented that prophecy from being fulfilled, but Jehovah's purpose has not changed. (Daniel 2:44) Jehovah's will is not being done on earth because first of all, Satan rules the world. He is angry at being cast out of heaven and he knows his time on earth is limited. (1 John 5:19; Revelation 12:12) Secondly, as a result of Satan's influence, people are wicked, they lie, cheat, steal and kill. Thirdly, human governments and even religious authorities do not encourage people to do God's will. Weak, corrupt and cruel, they spread lies about God and have even gone so far as to have His Name removed from the Bible. Imagine that, the Creator of the Universe, the One who gives life to all things in heaven and on earth, reduced to a nameless entity! (Ecclesiastes 8:9; Revelation 14:16) God's Kingdom will accomplish God's will on earth at the battle of Har-magedon [Armageddon] where the unrighteous people mentioned earlier, the wicked, political governments and all those who oppose Jehovah God will be destroyed once for all time. (Revelation 20:1-3; 22:1-3)

The lesson for us today - Jesus surrendered his perfect life so we in turn could have forgiveness of sins and everlasting life on paradise earth. (Matthew 20:28; Romans 6:23; Hebrews 9:12) This has always been Jehovah God's purpose right from the beginning of creation. If you want to benefit from God's Kingdom, it is imperative that you learn to be obedient subjects of Jesus, our reigning, heavenly King. (Revelation 7:9, 14, 16, 17)
