A to Z Challenge - X is for XENOPHOBIA

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess.
I am taking part in the 2014 A-Z Challenge - 26 posts on 26 days of April, with Sundays off. Today's letter is: X for Xenophobia [Click here to see my other AtoZ posts]

Xenophobia comes from the Greek words ξένος (xenos) meaning "strange, foreigner" and φόβος (phobos) meaning "fear." This is deep-rooted hatred and fear of the unfamiliar.
"I HAVE A DREAM." Who of you today is not familiar with those words spoken by Martin Luther King, Jr. in his famous speech years ago?

What was this "dream"? It was that one day, people would be free from racial prejudice. That is the hope of millions today. Sadly, despite some good measures, human governments cannot completely erase injustice, racism, racial intolerance nor discrimination. What can be done then? Well, it would involve curbing discriminatory acts, changing a person's thoughts/feelings towards another group and removing inherited sin and imperfection. There's also the influence of Satan the Devil whom the Bible describes as "a manslayer" who is "misleading the inhabited earth." (John 8:44, Revelation 12:9) Only the Bible has the power to change the way a person feels and thinks about others, because it is God's Word and He is not partial. (Hebrews 4:12; Acts 10:34) Second, only God's Kingdom, with Jesus Christ as king can remove sin, imperfection and ultimately Satan. God has promised to restore earth to a perfect paradise where only righteous people are to dwell. (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Revelation 20:2,3) That has always been God's purpose and we know God does not lie! (Genesis 26, 28; Titus 1:2) What a wonderful, peaceful future awaits from those who are xenophobic!

  1. Good X post.
    I did this X word in 2012!
    X i for Xenophobia
(My site is migrating this week, so my link may be bit wonky later. Sorry about that.)

Stopping by from the #atozchallenge !

    1. Hello J. Lenni Dorner.
X is such a hard word to write about. Thanks for stopping by.

  2. I am so impressed you found an actual "X"-word! I'd say that puts you in about the top 10% of AtoZers! :O)

It seems to be a sad fact of the 'natural human', that if it is not race, or nationality, or language, we will find some difference on which to base our "us vs them" mentality. Personally, I like all the variety in the species. It keeps things interesting!

    1. Hello LuAnn.
It was certainly a challenge, but well worth it. I agree variety is good. Afterall, think of how boring it would be if we were all like stoic robots! Divisions and prejudice exist because of the world we live in, but this is only for a short while. As I pointed out in my post, the time is fast approaching for hatred, fear, oppression, discrimination and everything else that's contrary to God's rule to be done away with once and for all! Thanks for the visit and for taking the time to comment.
