Bible Teachings 405

Hello there. Welcome to Entrepreneurial Goddess and Episode 5 of my mini Bible series "Bible Teachings".

Let's recap: Perfection, Free Will, Disobedience, Sin, Death...what do all these things have to do with us? Read on to find out more.

Adam [and Eve] sinned against Jehovah God by eating from the forbidden tree that he was specifically commanded by God not to eat from. Adam stole from God! Do you remember what God said would be the punishment for disobedience? Death! (Genesis 2:16, 17*). Adam's disobedience or sin not only impacted his own life, but since he didn't have any children at the time of sinning, his actions would thus have a direct impact on his future offspring. You see, by sinning against God, Adam lost God's protection (Genesis 3:17-19, 23-24*). Without God caring for and providing all his material needs, Adam became prone to old age and eventually death. He could have lived forever in a perfect body in the Garden of Eden if he had only just heeded God's command about the forbidden tree. Instead, he forfeited his wonderful prospects by exercising his freedom of choice [free will] to do something bad. As such, he passed his sin and imperfection on to his subsequent children and descendants [you and me]. We didn't have a choice. Adam sold us into slavery of sin and death by his willful disobedience and as a result of inherited sin, we get sick, we deteriorate, we age and we eventually die...just like Adam! (Genesis 5:1-5; Romans 5:12*)

The events in the Garden of Eden directly impact us today. Not only did Adam sin against God and sell us into sin and death, but don't forget about Satan and the role he played. In fact, Satan is as active today as he was back then in Eden. How so? Tune in for Episode 6!
